Balance of the Force - 1999
Waldeck's work is similar earthy downtempo, though many of his productions reflect the recruitment of vocalists, similar to Massive Attack. After contributing a track to the Spray compilation The Eclectic Sound of Vienna, Waldeck released his debut full-length Balance of the Force in 1999. Sometimes described as trip-hop Waldeck's songs have a very calm and laidback theme. They often consist of mellow vocals sung either by Joy Malcolm or Brian Amos, among others.

Flawless

Hearbeat - 1991
Too much to say about this superlative musician.
Google... says it all.

Constructions: Sofa Surfers Remixed And Dubbed - 2000
Sofa Surfers expertly illuminate the dark side of a world with no easy answers -- and they do it with style.
Após 2005 mudaram de estilo, lamentávelmente... para mim.

Imprescindível

Suzuki - 2000
A charming record at every listening. It has a certain classical depth that is largely uncommon to average dub downtempo affairs. It's made of original compositions by Dorfmeister and Huebner, soothing, languid, sophisticated and light.
A must for all Downtempo fans.(Discogs)

Simplesmente Deliciosa

May, 19, 1992
Mexican-American poet and vocalist Ingrid Chavez, born in 1965, was a Prince protégé from 1987 to 1991, and was married to David Sylvian from 1992 to 2005. Her debut album was initially intended to just set her spoken-word poetry to atmospheric music supplied by Prince, but when Warner Brothers pushed for the album to have sung vocals, Prince abandoned the project, so half of the album ended up as intended, and the remainder consisted of pop songs co-produced by Ingrid with Prince's studio hands Michael Koppelman and Levi Seacer Jr. Chavez also wrote the bulk of Madonna's hit "Justify My Love", and received a large out-of-court settlement for not being credited on that single's initial release. In later years, Chavez focused on parenthood and photography, and occasionally contributed vocals to various David Sylvian releases.(Discogs)

Fabulosa !!!

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - 1998
Hip-hop queen and international soul sensation Lauryn Hill is an ‘artist’ of the truest type, inspiring millions as a singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, musician and film actress. Born in South Orange, New Jersey, Hill early established herself as one of music’s most brilliant vocalists while performing in The Fugees, with songs such as “Killing Me Softly with His Song” solidifying the singer’s worldwide acclaim. Her incredible career as a solo artist began in 1998 with the release of her six-time platinum The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, a neo soul masterpiece which by the end of the year topped virtually every “best of” list in the industry and took home a staggering five Grammy Awards - Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song ("Doo Wop (That Thing)") and Best R&B Album - establishing Lauryn Hill as the first woman to ever win five of the awards in a single year. Please, Help !!

Lo-Fi - Nano - 1998
Lo-Fi (Frikkx, Fridgeir Eyjolfsson) is a one-man Icelandic trip-hop band. Founded in early 1998, Lo-Fi completed his first album titled "Nano" later that year. 2 Years later in Barcelona lo-fi started to work on his second album Nightsongs (sueño sobre mariposa muerta).

Now, I'd like very much to listen to, but I can't find'm.
Anybody, help?

Óbviamente...

Freaks & Icons - 2000
dZihan & Kamien are a downtempo house and acid jazz music duo based in Vienna, Austria. Their sound has been described as having "jazzy texture, trip-hop rhythms and Eastern ambience".
First debut album, Freaks & Icons, was released in 2000 on their label, Couch Records. The group followed their debut with two more albums, Refreaked in 2001 and Gran Riserva, with a more jazzy sound, in 2002.(Wiki)

Avançando uma geração...

Flying Away - 1997
One of my favorite bands ( Subscrevo!). Flying Away was their first, Heroes of nature their second. Flying Away was re-released in 2001 after much acclaim. This is really a cult band too, but the inclusion of Underwater Love on many compilations in the early 2000-2002 and late 90's as well as a Levi's ad in Europe saw them reach a new audience.

Sobre estes quero acrescentar: "sabe a pouco..."

Transcendente !!!

 Yessongs - 1973
Yes is, for a very good reason, my second favourite band on this planet.
Pretty simple really. Just listen to anything that Yes did in the '60's or '70's and you're bound to see why (unless of course you've been blinded by modern society).
Subscrevo total!!
Quem não conhece, dêm-lhes uma oportunidade. Não se arrependerão!
Aqui fica uma pequena amostra (ao vivo) ilustradora de todo o seu talento.
For the record, é o meu album preferido deles.

Clássico do Trip Hop?

Londinium - 1996
As far as Trip Hop goes, this has got to be one of the most underestimated albums ever! Right up there with Portishead's "dummy", Lamb's first album and Massive Attack.
It is a very strong combination of beautiful female vocals and a male hiphop vocalist. At first this causes friction, but after a few times you won't have it any other way.
Also the keyboard solos at the end of most tracks are overwhelming, reminding me of the best Pink Floyd stuff.
This album should have been a classic!

Nine Songs - 2001
Micatone is the best example of what should be called real modern jazz - every track is different, what combined with true proffesionalism, delicacy and vehemence makes that their music can be listened all along.
Nine Songs delivers eight full tracks of jazzstep goodness, all bolstered by Lisa Bassenge’s slinky vocals. “Step into the Gallery” speeds along at a head-rocking, finger-snapping pace, and Bassenge keeps up without losing a step. Strangely enough, “Tranquilo” is not tranquil at all; for mellow, you’ll have to turn to “A Part of Me.” There’s a tech sheen and smoothness on “Playmobile Soldier,” which, despite its odd conceit, works marvelously well. The final track, “Torture,” is anything but tortuous: it’s a laidback track that glides away into space.(discogs)

Algo diferente

Timeless (Disc 1) - 1995
Goldie is responsible for some of the earliest and best drum and bass/hardcore/jungle.
Check out the Terminator EP, 4 amazing tunes! Saint Angel could still be played 10 years later and it sounds like new.
Timeless (Disc 2) - 1995

Colheita de 1981

My Life in the Bush of Ghosts - 1981
Quando estes dois mestres se juntam... resulta nisto!
"Brian Eno and David Byrne's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts appears downright visionary. With its "found" vocals, cut-and-paste arrangements, funked-up rhythms and embrace of influences from all around the globe, the duo's controversial work anticipated the creative cross-pollination and technological innovation of contemporary dance music, world music, hip hop and alternative rock. You can hear echoes of My Life in the Bush of Ghosts in the anthems Moby built around vintage vocal samples, in the outrageously exotic beats of Missy Elliot and Timbaland, in the Middle Eastern accented chill-out tracks of Thievery Corporation or Bjork's otherworldly soundscapes."

No return from this...

Point of No Return - 2006
Black Era is a trip hop band from Naples, Italy... merecedora do meu agrado.

Génio e pioneiro, se me permitem a veleidade...

You're Under Arrest - 1985

Reformation - 2005
Break Reform released their debut album, ‘Fractures’ in 2003. It was one of the biggest selling underground albums from the U.K that year. Receiving licenses in Japan and Spain and re-pressed 4 times, the beautifully simple lyrics of Nanar and the streetwise and sublime production skills of JJ and Simon S hit a true chord with the record buying cognoscenti.

Imperdível !!

The Mating Game - 2006
Bitter:Sweet is an electronic/trip-hop duo with jazz-like qualities from Los Angeles. The band is comprised of Shana Halligan, who provides vocals and lyrics and composes the songs, and Kiran Shahani, who produces and composes the songs. The duo was formed in 2006 when Halligan answered an ad for a singer posted by Shahani on Craigslist, who had previously founded the Supreme Beings of Leisure. Their 11-track debut album, The Mating Game, was released April 4, 2006 under Quango Music Group and has been reviewed and recognized by several magazine publications, such as Urb and People.

Breath From Another (1998)
Born December 23, 1978 Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Jen-Bea Englishman is better known as Esthero.
At the age of sixteen, Esthero moved from small town Harriston, Ontario on her own to Toronto, where she began singing at open-mic nights, a journey that in 1997 led to a meeting with the president of EMI Publishing Canada, whom she charmed so well during their first meeting that without hearing her sing a single note he was moved to set up and finance recording sessions with Doc, a guitarist and studio engineer.
