Nine Songs - 2001
Micatone is the best example of what should be called real modern jazz - every track is different, what combined with true proffesionalism, delicacy and vehemence makes that their music can be listened all along.
Nine Songs delivers eight full tracks of jazzstep goodness, all bolstered by Lisa Bassenge’s slinky vocals. “Step into the Gallery” speeds along at a head-rocking, finger-snapping pace, and Bassenge keeps up without losing a step. Strangely enough, “Tranquilo” is not tranquil at all; for mellow, you’ll have to turn to “A Part of Me.” There’s a tech sheen and smoothness on “Playmobile Soldier,” which, despite its odd conceit, works marvelously well. The final track, “Torture,” is anything but tortuous: it’s a laidback track that glides away into space.(discogs)
